Why HTAMF and Significance of Tyagaraja?

Carnatic music is the treasure trove of our ancient culture and Tyagaraja is its greatest composer. His skill in ragas, the presence of “Ragabhava”, Lakshana in his Kritis and “Sangathis” in his kirtanas portray his genius and skill. His songs are full of poetic genius, spiritual emotions and deep philosophical truths. His innumerable compositions have paved the way for the development of Carnatic music in South India and generations of musicians have sung and extolled his compositions.

There is a large captive audience around the world that appreciates Carnatic music and Tyagaraja’s compositions. HTAMF aspires to be a landmark festival celebrating Tyagaraja’s contributions, providing a platform for promising musicians and rejuvenating our society by connecting with our ancient culture
